thrifty find :: table candelabra

A few weeks ago I headed to our local Goodwill to donate a bag of clothes that I had been collecting... but on my way out the door something caught my eye...

...this pretty brass candelabra. And at $6.50, it was really, really pretty:) Our dining room table needed a little something anyways. I already had the candles on hand, so I jabbed them in there and called it a day.

But then, the more I walked past the pretty brass candelabra, the more I felt like it needed something. Something a little extra. Maybe I need to put a table runner under there... or maybe some fall foliage at the base... or... hmmm... maybe a can of white spray paint???

I haven't done anything yet... but now every time I pass by the dining room table, I envision this little guy in a glossy white finish. I can't help it. Look at these beauties...

What do you think? Leave the brass? Or go glossy white? Have you found anything exciting at your local thrift store lately?

girl I was thinking the same thing. it would be awesome as white or a flat turquoise or hec, spray paint even comes in metallics now so you could do so much with it...I admit I probably would have passed it by - but it's actually an amazing candelabra!

I think you just need a table runner. the brass matches your vintage dining room. :-)

I agree with Hillary. A pretty seasonal table runner, or a romantic lacy tablecloth...but leave the brass in its beautiful, brassy, natural state. :)

Besides, unless the pictures are lying it looks like your walls are a creamy color, which would clash with white. :)

I think a bit of fall foliage around the natural brass candelabra would complete the look and make a perfect centerpiece!

i mainly clicked on the comments to see what others were advising you do. looks like folks are torn. my thoughts were to add a runner or the fall folliage & see how you like it. if you still fill like it doesn't pop enough, go for the color overhaul. i like your friend's advice about the turquoise though instead of the white.

I vote.... hmm... table runner?? I can bring you some options that I never use (they may not be long enough though) OR we could spray paint it when I get there... And I definitely vote for the turquoise option if you spray paint. So, my answer is as torn as the rest of the comments... Love you!
