fall mantle goodness

I wanted to keep things pretty simple this year for my fall mantle... and simple for me meant using things from around the house that I already own... the holiday decor budget is pretty tight this year. So... I scoured the house for some natural elements that I already had on hand and this is what I came up with...

You may remember me talking about the wooden vintage soda crate last week. I bought this one last weekend at the antique fair for my sister... I'm sure she won't mind if I borrow it for my fall mantle display... (right, Jenna??) To complete the look, I brought in a couple of candles and an adorable little owl from another room. Then the twisty twigs are from the Hobby Lobby floral department, and the white pumpkins were my big "splurge" for fall, at a whopping $4 from Whole Foods. I went crazy and bought 3. I know, I know... big spender. So, you might be wondering where the third pumpkin is...

Here you go. I nestled the last pumpkin in a shallow tin tray with some green moss (also from the Hobby Lobby floral department). I love how this turned out... super simple... and super pretty.

What do you do for fall decorations? Mantle display? Wreath on the door? Pumpkins on the porch?

Linking this up to The Lettered Cottage.

I love this - white pumpkins are my absolute favorite!! I had a very similar soda crate hanging on my wall as a child. Mine was also yellow, and it held lots of my little trinkets and small fragile figurines. Very cool!!
