If house tour {part I} left you intrigued enough to stick around... I now welcome you to house tour {part II}... the bedroom.
Our little rental has 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths, so we really lucked out there. We use the bedroom downstairs for my office (this will be part III of the house tour eventually) and keep the upstairs as our primary living space. So, come on in... and I'll show you around...
Our master bedroom is pretty small, which keeps the furniture placement options pretty easy... bed on this wall, dresser on this wall... done. I love, love, love our headboard. It was a "hand-me-down," if you can even call it that. It's by far one of the nicer pieces of furniture that we own. It's like a giant sofa. We didn't have a headboard at all for the first 5+ years of marriage, so to say I appreciate this beauty would be a major understatement.
Opposite the bed is this dresser. Another hand-me-down. This was in my house growing up, in the guest room, I believe... and my parents gave it to us when we got married. It used to be a pretty hideous oak with brass hardware. I painted it as soon as it was out of the moving truck almost 7 years ago. I spray painted the hardware a muted silver. Then I attempted to distress the edges, but I'm no expert here. I definitely like how it turned out though... way better than the oak and brass.
On the wall to the right of the bed, we had just enough room to squeeze in a bedside table and hang a fun canvas print on the wall. PS... don't you just love how the renters before us painted the focal wall? It's almost as if they knew our color scheme...
I found this piece at TJ Maxx Home Goods (my most favorite store EVER) about a year ago for only $50. Isn't she a beauty?
I try to save the really personal touches for the bedroom... photos of me and Lance... wedding memorabilia... etc.
This is one of my favorite pieces... and a good reminder before we go to bed:)
Then I have a simple shadow box that holds some of our sweet wedding memories... roses from my bouquet, my Pop's handkerchief, our simple wedding invitation, honeymoon plane tickets, and a few photos. This hangs on the wall right when you walk in the door on the left, right next to Lance's closet. Speaking of Lance's closet...
Here it is. We jammed as much as we could in here.
Poor Lance, he doesn't get any real estate in the dresser, so all of his shirts... pants... sweaters... shoes... socks... underwear... are jammed somewhere in this tiny little closet. I took over the closet space downstairs... but that is for house tour {part III}.

I love the decor!
love the little peek into your bedroom. i can see why you LOVE that headboard so much...it's beautiful and makes a major statement in the space! looking forward to part 3! :)
i have to say that i'm glad you finally got a headboard. your poor wall paid for it from lance's stinky, dirty head for too many years!
also, i want to come visit! i need some julia time. it was so hard knowing you were in doo-luth and i couldn't come see you.
I want to come visit too! The SS girls should take a road trip to Louisville. Now that'd be a social. Loving the peeks into your sweet abode. Maybe someday I'll get brave enough to do mine.
i love your headboard!
