31 days of change :: day 13 {changing lives}

Last night Lance and I attended an amazing event for an even more amazing ministry... Scarlet Hope.  Scarlet Hope is a ministry that believes in going into some of the darkest places in order to share the joy of knowing Jesus.  They have made it their mission to share the love of Christ to hurting women.  Every week, dozens of female volunteers go into the strip clubs of Louisville to provide a warm meal to the dancers. But more than just a warm meal... these volunteers love these dancers... they laugh with them... they do their make-up... they offer to pray for them.. they paint their fingernails... they serve them... they listen to them... they are the Light of Jesus in a very dark place.

Every year Scarlet Hope hosts an annual gala dinner... or better known as "An Evening of Hope."  This year's gala was held at The Louisville Aviation Center in an old WWII hanger.  Such an awesome location.  Everything was spectacular... sparkling lights... great music... candles on the tables... tasty food... awesome auction... and a reason to get dressed up:)

But hands down, the most amazing part of the evening was getting to hear the stories and testimonies of the women that have left the adult entertainment industry...

...the stories of changed lives.

There is no way to express in words the impact this ministry has had on me.  The stories that some of these women have are heartbreaking... but thankfully God is in the business of changing lives.

I love this post. So many people are so quick to assume Jesus only loves those that are "good". Guess what, I love my children even when they are not doing what I have told them to do. There is nothing that will change my love. Jesus loves ALL of us even more than that. xoxo
